So continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, they ate their food with gladness and simplicity of heart, praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily those who were being saved. Acts 2:46-47

The Hospitality committee hosts several fellowship events throughout the year. Through this fellowship we hope to enjoy each others company in a way that GLORIFIES GOD! Some of our events include an annual summer picnic, Christmas party in January, game and movie nights. You do not need to be a church member to attend and it’s always our hope that you invite a friend/s. The more the merrier!

The Bible suggests several attributes found in a ministry of hospitality. A focus on the needs of others rather than one’s own is exemplified in the stories of Abraham and the three visitors (Genesis 18), the Shunammite Woman (II Kings 4:8-37), and the Good Samaritan (Luke 10:25-37).

The way we care for people is a reflection of the way our Lord Jesus cares for them. Hospitality has involved many of our church events, but it is also about caring for others. Shepaug Valley Bible Church has been gifted with some really great cooks, and we are blessed to be able to provide meals, dinners, and company on occasion to those who need it whether it’s illness, surgery, or just day to day struggling. If a meal would be a blessing to you or someone you know, please contact the hospitality committee. Also if you would like to join the hospitality committee we would love the help.
